En los textos que constituyen este volumen se analiza la situacin presente de la economa mexicana, precisamente inscrita en la regin de Amrica del Norte. Se estudian algunos aspectos del proceso econmico, temas y actores sociales que se consideran cruciales: las empresas, la industria maquiladora, el empleo y su evolucin en la manufactura; el comportamiento de la inversin extranjera directa; la unin monetaria, el debate sobre el rea monetaria ptima y los regmenes de tipos de cambio en la zona. Tambin se estudia la economa de Mxico frente a otros intentos de construir relaciones econmicas internacionales; los diversos acuerdos firmados por el pas con otros pases de Amrica Latina y el acuerdo signado con la Unin Europea. / The texts included in this volume analyze, the current Mexicans economic situation, as well as some aspects of the economic process; the social topics and actors are considered crucial; the enterprises, both big and small; manufacturing industry, its employment and its evolution in manufacture; the behavior of foreign direct investment; the monetary union; the debate on the optimal monetary area, and the regimes of money exchange in the area.
